To get you in the spirit we are sharing our favorite apple pie recipe!
Ginger Apple Pie:
- 2 pie crusts
- 5-6 medium granny smith apples, peeled, & thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
Combine apple slices with ginger, cinnamon, salt and sugar. Let them sit together for a few minutes so the sugars soak in! Pour the mixture into a pie crust and top with dollops of butter. Make a lattice pattern with the second pie crust and sprinkle a little sugar on top. Place the pie in the oven for 45 minutes at 375 degrees or until the crust is golden.
