Holiday Entertaining | Overnight Guests

It’s that time of year! Sprucing up the guest room and making sure the house is squeaky clean for your guests. You may be having the in-laws over or maybe even a dear family friend. It’s important to make your guest feel welcome and here are a few ideas to make their stay extra special.

Make sure you have something easy and versatile for breakfast food. Everyone’s different about their first meal of the day so having fresh fruit, oatmeal, eggs or fresh pastries are great to have around. You can make your pastries if you are feeling ambitious or we love picking them up from a local coffee shop or bakery. These lovelies are from Patika, one of our favorites for delicious and unique pastries. feather your nest holiday hosting-1 feather your nest holiday hosting-2

Coffee or Tea? Again, an important start to many people’s day. Make sure you have a couple options as well as milk and sugar. Maybe even send your guest a note beforehand to make sure you have the right kind of milk– now that’s going an extra mile! Almond milk, skim, half and half, whole! There are so many options these days. feather your nest holiday hosting-4

Finally, an extra blanket at the end of the bed is important for added comfort. We also love making sure there is a good read and even a candle for some extra thoughtfulness. feather your nest holiday hosting-5

Happy hosting, nesters!

Cire Trudon

Cire Trudon is truly a legacy in the world of candles. Made in Paris since 1643, these candles have been unrivaled in quality and skillful craftsmanship. From Versailles to Napoleon and onto the filming of Marie Antoinette in 2006, Cire Trudon has been at the center stage for luxury and is now available in your home. It’s unique composition using vegetal material blended with perfume makes for a perfect blend of lasting aroma.

No heavy metals or pesticides are involved in their manufacturing and they are entirely biodegradable.

We love the one-of-a-kind scents… Abd El Kader (Morroccan mint)… Spiritus Sanctus (reminiscent of holy perfume of altar candle) are a couple of our favorites.

Artist Spotlight: Anne Neilson

Anne Neilson is an accomplished painter and author. She has a unique calling and passion to paint and give back to others less fortunate. Her beloved Angel Series paintings prompted her self-published book Angels In Our Midst which has sold over 25,000 copies and later Strokes of Compassion. These beautiful art books share inspirational and personal stories behind the Angel Series. Along with her books she has developed luxury home products such as notebooks that incorporate her paintings.
